One of our Zhineng Qigong techniques is to lead Qi from the lower Dantien (area between navel and Ming Men) along the legs to the feet further to the acupuncture point Yong Quan which is located on our foot sole and called „Pouring Spring“ in English. Through this point we absorb fresh energy and lead it into our body as well as release used energy. Isn´t it interesting that we call this part of the body „sole“ and how this word relates to „soul“ – coincidence? According to the foot reflexology the Yong Quan point lies exactly in the middle of the area „Mind“ - (Thoughts) and „Soul“ - (Feeling). While practicing Zhineng Qigong we wilfully use our mind to activate Qi in our feet and by this deeply rooting ourselves in the earth. As Doris Lessing says: „By the way, what about walking: where shall we go to, if not inwards?“ So we root ourselves from the inside out. Standing firmly on the ground, we actually getting more mobile, how can that be? „If you stand with both feet on the ground, you can touch the sky.“ (Hans Kudszus). when we practice Zhineng Qigong we indeed follow this principle as well. |

Qi has its origin in the Chinese language and has many meanings: air, gas, breath, vital force, energy. In Zhineng Qigong it has the meaning of „essence made of fine matter from the universe“- a very light form of energy. Neither we can see Qi nor smell or taste it. But we can feel Qi in our body. It feels like a prickle, it feels warm or cold, it expands. There is a feeling that something is getting bigger or smaller. Plants and trees absorb Qi from the universe. Qi exists in the soil, in the water, in the air, in crystals, in animals, in human beings, in the whole universe. Even our food contains Qi. The intake of Qi can take place through:
Ř food and water Ř our breath Ř pores of the skin (exchange of Wan Yuan Qi – the purest Qi of the universe) |

The healing power of our inner smile How often have you smiled today or during the last days? Are you aware of the tremendous impact of this simple, but highly effective and kind gesture towards yourself? When we practice Zhineng Qigong or any other healing method we often concentrate too much on wanting the "right thing to do". But trying to perform the "right" posture and movements leads us to tense up and at the same time hinders us to let go and loosening up! If we start practicing the inner smile while doing our exercise (or any other activity) we start mastering our personal power and well-being on a much higher and more effective level. Our body responds to our inner smile: when we go through our body with the intention of smiling to each cell and organ, to our nervous, blood and lymph systems, to our meridians, bones, muscels and tissues, to literally every part of our body, we immediately relax and our body loosens up, warms up and starts to heal.

Regular practice of Zhineng Qigong supports a higher level of awareness of our body, mind, thoughts and feelings. Through simply acknowledging and noticing what is, we are already relaxing. Stillness and relaxation are necessary, in order to be healthy and stay healthy. This simple and fundamental insight is not only the foundation for the Zhineng Qigong practice, but also something Dr. Frank Kinslow promotes in his book: "The Secret of Instant Healing", a book that I would like to recommend! Some of us, who are regularly practicing Zhineng Qigong have already noticed, that despite the "heavy storms" around us - let it be financial challenges, stress with colleagues or family members, insecurity about the future etc. - through the practice of Zhineng Qigong, we still access feelings of inner peace, joy, mental strength, balance and confidence - despite our rough circumstances. Dr. Kinslow refers to these feelings as "Eufeelings" - referring to the euphoric state of these feelings and the pure connection to Being.
